Hi Guys,
This is again another incident which I will not forget in my life. This is just a reminder for all of us who go to some stores, buy something & leave back the small change with the collection boy only.
On one day at a petrol bunk, a man in his late sixties filled petrol in his car & asked the collection boy to return back Rs. 0.50 (50paise), which he had given short. The collection boy said he did not have change.
Many of us here would have left this with the collection boy & left the place by telling keep the change.
But, this man, (who I found out was from the defense later) after parking his car came back & narrated the incident to the manager of the bunk. The manager also made fun of the retired soldier & said that it is just matter of 50paise, they did not have change & he will not construct a house with this money.
Then the senior citizen, was taken aback, he then told the manager that if everybody in the country gave him 50paise, he would own couple of petrol bunks & construct a good bungalow as well. He also told the manager, would he accept it if he had given 50paise short. Then the manager returned his 50paise.During this entire conversation, the retired soldier was very calm & never let his emotions take over.
I personally felt that what the senior person said was right & from then on made a point not to leave back small changes, isn't it our hard earned money?

Very True... I had a similar experience on a paterol bunk near my place. I asked the pertol bunk guy to fill in petrol for Rs.500/-. He filled in for Rs. 499.01/- and when i questioned him and asked him to fill in for the full amount, he replied "25paise extra aghuthe sir". I asked him if he cannot forgo 25 paisa, what is logic in asking me to forego Re.1/-. the moment i asked him this, he quietly filled in for 500.25. Although there are many petrol bunks in bangalore like this, the authorities keep quiet. Unless all of us as consumers start asking, the seller would always continue to cheat the buyer.
A Similar kind of situation : while using the public transport (especially in Chennai),many a times the Bus conductors refuse to return back 50 paises and 1 rupee whenever you say you do not have exact change for your tickets. It is so embarassing sometimes to wait for the conductors to giv the change back to us (and they act as if they are not at all bothered)and they feel so proud for making us wait for so long to giv back our own money!!!!VERY BAD!!!!!!!!!
I really feel the same when in a petrol bunk the guy puts me this Extra petrol like Speed or Xtra Premium,They rob us of our money. We never know whether it is the normal or enhanced petrol.
I really get frustrated even when they do not put full petrol for what we ask. With the rising cost of the petrol it is too much to ask for.
In USA the cost of pertro (Gasoline) is priced to less than a cent . For example the price is now $ 3.495 per gallon.
I always look for the cheapest (Best)
price per gallon. Over a year we can save several hundred dollars by saving 5 cents per gallon of gas.
Only in India they do not give proper change when you purchase something, it is because of corruption or what you may call it.
